MT Højgaard has today signed a turnkey contract with Nordea Ejendomme to build Nordea Bank's new headquarters in Ørestad North, Copenhagen. The contract has a value of DKK 873 million and comprises two buildings totalling about 46,000 square metres, plus about 14,000 square metres of basement space. PensionDanmark, the Medical Doctors' Pension Fund and Nordea Liv & Pension will be end investors in the project.

Nordea's new headquarters will be a sustainable building which will be screened to achieve the Platinum Certification Level under the LEED scheme.

Before entering into the turnkey contract, Nordea Ejendomme and MT Højgaard concluded a cooperation agreement, and the two parties have worked closely together for more than six months to plan and optimise the project.

- We see many advantages for both us and our customers in this type of cooperation. When we have ample time to review design, choice of construction materials, budget and time schedule together, the customer will get the full picture of the correlation between price and quality. Together with Nordea Ejendomme and the other team members, we have come up with many innovative and value-adding solutions optimising the construction process and the final building. This cooperation model guarantees Nordea Ejendomme a state-of-the-art building with a good overall economy, says Lars Fuhr Pedersen, Senior Project Manager of MT Højgaard.

Construction starts at the end of March 2014, and the building is expected to be ready for inauguration in the autumn of 2016. The contract is likely to have a positive impact on MT Højgaard's turnover and profit for the duration of the project, but will not lead to changes in the financial forecasts previously announced.
